-
Open the Pi-Star dashboard
Browse to
http://pi-star.localor the IP address of your hotspot. Log in if you have set a password. - Enter configuration mode Click Configuration on the left. If prompted, enter your password.
-
Set the host on each enabled mode
For D-Star: set Startup Host to
xlx159.duckdns.organd Startup Module toA. For DMR: set DMR Master toXLX159_BMand the port to62030. For YSF: set YSF Host toxlx159.duckdns.orgwith port42000. -
Configure the URCALL and module
For D-Star, set Module to
Aand Pi-Star will fill the URCALL asXLX159AL. To switch modules, change the last letter:XLX159BLfor DMR,XLX159CLfor YSF. - Set frequency and power Enter the frequency for your local hotspot, set the power to 5-10 mW for indoor use, and configure any duplex offsets if your radio is full-duplex.
- Apply and reboot Click Apply Changes at the bottom, then reboot the MMDVMHost service from the Dashboard page. The hotspot will register on the reflector in 10-30 seconds.
G2 Link (ircDDB) for D-Star
Use this if you have a repeater or hotspot that connects to the D-Star network through ircDDB rather than DCS.
- Log into your ircDDB gateway. Either the local dashboard or the remote gateway at
xlx159.duckdns.org:30001. - Open the gateway configuration. Set the ircDDB server to
xlx159.duckdns.org. - Register callsign if needed. If the gateway is not yet registered, register it through the ircDDB dashboard.
- Set the default URCALL. Use
XLX159ALfor module A, or change the last letter to switch modules. - Apply and verify. The gateway should register on the reflector within a minute. Check the dashboard for the connection status.
Linked repeater
For a full-duplex DMR, D-Star, or P25 repeater that will be permanently linked to XLX159.
- Configure the repeater controller. Set the host to
xlx159.duckdns.organd the appropriate port for your mode (30001 for D-Star, 62030 for DMR, 42000 for YSF/P25/NXDN, 17000 for M17). - Set the static talkgroup or module. For DMR, set TG 159 on TS2 as a static link. For D-Star, set URCALL to
XLX159AL. - Configure user access. Set the repeater so that local users can transmit through the reflector (default for most repeater controllers).
- Test with a handheld. Key up from a local radio and verify that audio appears on the reflector status (if you have a way to check) and that you can hear the reflected audio on another receiver.
- Document for your users. Post the connection info in your repeater's documentation so users know what to expect when they key up.
REF001CL for the REF001 C reflector) so the repeater falls back to a working reflector if XLX159 is offline.Software client (DroidStar, BlueDV, etc.)
For connecting from a phone or computer without a radio.
- Install a client. DroidStar for Android, BlueDV for Windows or Linux, or any other client that supports your mode.
- Create a new connection profile. Set the host to
xlx159.duckdns.organd the port for your mode. DroidStar will auto-detect the module from the URCALL. - For DroidStar specifically: Set the Reflector to
XLX159and the Module toA(or whichever you want). - For BlueDV: Use the AMBE server built into the client, or set it to
Noneif your sound card supports AMBE natively. - Test with a call. Key up and listen for return audio. If the audio is one-way, check that the AMBE server is configured correctly.
